Corpus Christi, TX – September 1, 2026 – Delcon, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of medical devices for blood collection and processing, and BBCS, a leading biologics management company and developer of the ForLife Biologics Platform®, have partnered to accomplish a significant integration milestone. Coastal Bend Blood Center is the first blood center in the country to launch Delcon’s Milano mixer fully integrated with BBCS’ ForLife Biologics Platform®, the enterprise platform that powers Coastal Bend’s collection and manufacturing operations.

The integration connects Delcon’s Milano mixer directly to Coastal Bend’s ForLife Biologics Platform®, allowing collection data to flow automatically between the two systems instead of being logged and entered manually. For a blood center managing thousands of donations each year across a ten-county service area, that means fewer manual touchpoints, faster processing, and a stronger safety net for the data that follows every unit of blood from donor to patient.

“At Delcon, we’re constantly looking for ways to advance the future of blood collection,” said Barbara Sala, CEO, Delcon. “This integration with BBCS’ ForLife Biologics Platform® is a milestone for our technology in the U.S. market, and we’re proud that Coastal Bend Blood Center is the first to bring it to life for their donors and staff.”

“Blood centers and biotherapy organizations need technology that works together seamlessly so their teams can spend less time managing data and more time focused on their mission,” said

Brian Forbis, CEO, BBCS. “By integrating Delcon’s Milano mixer directly with the ForLife Biologics Platform®, we’re eliminating manual steps at the point of collection while strengthening the accuracy and continuity of critical donation data, supporting the foundation of a connected blood lifecycle. We’re proud to partner with Delcon and Coastal Bend Blood Center to bring this capability to the U.S. market for the first time.”

Key benefits of the integration include:

  • Automatic transfer of key collection data, including collection weight and collection time from the Milano mixer directly into the ForLife Biologics Platform®, reducing the need for manual data entry
  • Improved accuracy and traceability of donation records from collection through processing
  • Faster staff workflows during high-volume mobile drives and in-center donations
  • A stronger foundation for regulatory compliance and audit-readiness

“At Coastal Bend Blood Center, we are always looking for ways to strengthen our technology that improves operational efficiency and the donor experience. Connecting the Milano mixer directly with our ForLife Biologics Platform reduces manual data entry, strengthens traceability, and gives our team greater confidence in the information associated with every donation,” says Corey Survant, CEO of Coastal Bend Blood Center. “This allows us more time to focus on our donors and the communities we serve.”

This launch marks a significant milestone for all three organizations. It reflects a shared commitment to modernizing blood center operations, giving staff more confidence in their data for a better donor experience.
