The Product Owner reports to the VP of Technology and is responsible for ensuring successful delivery of products and features that align with BBCS business objectives, client needs, and market demands. This role serves as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams, translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements. The Product Owner emphasizes communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking rather than technical implementation and supports client onboarding and data conversion activities to ensure smooth transitions and high customer satisfaction.

PRIMARY PURPOSE & ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

The Product Owner is a collaborative, analytical, and customer-focused professional responsible for defining product vision, managing priorities, and ensuring alignment between business goals and delivered solutions. The Product Owner works closely with internal teams and clients throughout the product lifecycle.

The role’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Define and communicate the product vision and strategy, collaborating with the technical sales team as needed to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear, actionable product requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that balances client needs, market trends, and delivery feasibility.
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure delivery of high-value features.
  • Write clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria to support effective development and testing.
  • Serve as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and the development team to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
  • Lead regular stakeholder meetings to gather input, communicate priorities, and provide updates on product progress.
  • Conduct market research and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation.
  • Analyze competitive offerings to ensure BBCS products maintain a competitive position in the market.
  • Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to support successful onboarding processes.
  • Provide guidance and training as needed to ensure smooth adoption of BBCS products.
  • Address client concerns and feedback during onboarding to promote satisfaction and ease of use.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to support accurate and efficient data conversion processes.
  • Assist with data mapping, validation, and troubleshooting during data migrations to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and support, to ensure successful product launches.
  • Establish, track, and monitor key performance metrics to measure product success and inform data-driven decisions.
  • Identify potential risks and proactively work with teams to mitigate them.
  • Address roadblocks and escalate issues as necessary to support timely and successful delivery.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

As an employee within BBCS, this position will participate with the other staff members to contribute to and support the corporate goals, business plan, standard operating procedures and Corporate Quality Policy, and thus requires personal and professional integrity and work ethics.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in product ownership, business analysis, client-facing roles, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into structured product requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical, organized, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong focus on customer outcomes and business value.

EDUCATION:

  • A BA/BS or equivalent professional industry experience.
